What is Pressure Mapping?
Pressure mapping is an advanced technology used to assess the distribution of pressure across a surface in various contexts such as seating or lying.

Using a flexible interface or mat embedded with numerous pressure sensors, the pressure mapping system identifies high-pressure areas on your body, that may be putting you at risk of pressure injuries or other complications This technology is especially valuable in the prevention and management of pressure injuries which may be caused from prolonged sitting or lying.

Levaro Allied Health uses the ForeSite SS System (Xsensor) to capture accurate, high-resolution images. The Xsensor is a world leader in interface pressure measurement technology.

Our Occupational Therapists are skilled at using this pressure mapping system and interpreting the provided data to help develop an effective pressure management plan tailored to your unique needs. The plan may include making wheeled mobility, seating and related assistive technology recommendations and or client/carer education.
Our Occupational Therapists will guide you through the process, keeping you informed throughout and working with you to develop appropriate recommendations that best suits your individualised needs. We can measure pressure distribution across various support surfaces and consider the 24-hour positioning needs of a client throughout the process.
